ART & TECHNOLOGY: THE INTRODUCTION OF THE MAXUM

2004 saw the introduction of the new MAXUM over/under shotgun. For the first time in Caesar Guerini’s production, the shotgun’s receiver was embellished with a new engraving technique which combined the technology and precision of laser cutting with the master engravers art of manual hand engraving. This combination of machine and hand engraving achieved a finished result not previously possible by hand work alone. The technique was executed through Caesar Guerini’s association with the renowned Bottega Incision, founded and managed by Cesare Giovanelli, a personal friend of the Guerini brothers. The result of the union between the machines’ precision and the uniqueness of the master engravers’ strokes immediately made the MAXUM a prestigious model that quickly became the choice of discerning shooters.
