Receivers and Engravings

Forged Receivers

The receivers, whether in steel or light alloy, are machined from a forged solid billet. This means that the material’s grain structure is not interrupted by cutting tools, resulting in superior strength and enhanced ability to absorb the energy generated upon firing. The NiCrMo steel receivers are further subjected to a case-hardening and quenching process that provides optimal flexibility at the core while maintaining an extremely hard, wear-resistant surface. In the light alloy receivers, the breech face is also fitted with two interchangeable stainless steel inserts, ensuring maximum durability against both wear and corrosion caused by combustion gases.
All Caesar Guerini models, including the super-lightweight versions, are proof-tested at 1320 bar at the Italian National Proof House, guaranteeing the highest level of safety.

Perfect Fit:
Interlocking Sideplates

On models featuring sideplates, these are not secured with retaining screws but are instead precisely interlocked and hand-fitted to the stock. This allows for a continuous and harmonious engraving pattern, free from interruptions caused by screw heads. At the same time, it highlights the excellence of the mechanical workmanship—virtually tolerance-free—ensuring flawless and long-lasting assembly.

The Art of Engraving:
Tradition and Innovation

The complex geometry of the receiver head and fences requires hand finishing—an art that is becoming increasingly rare in industrial production. The engravings that embellish Caesar Guerini shotguns are exclusive and refined, perfectly in harmony with the elegance of the firearms they adorn. They are the result of a constant pursuit of beauty and sophistication, expressed both in modern interpretations and in the most classical styles, thanks to the talent of master engravers.

Their creation combines cutting-edge technology with the most traditional hand-engraving techniques, achieving a balance that ensures uniqueness and expressive depth. In the reflections and interplay of light across the engraved surfaces, a vitality emerges that no modern technology alone could ever achieve.

Each receiver thus becomes a precious canvas, adorned with floral motifs, mythological figures, hunting scenes, or geometric patterns—designs that convey not only technical mastery but also a true artistic vision. Engraving is not merely decoration; it is the distinctive signature of a firearm—the detail that makes it instantly recognizable and enhances both its aesthetic and collectible value, transforming it into a work of art as well as a perfect companion.
